• Al Muratsuchi is the only candidate with the combined experience as a teacher, local school board president, public school parent, and Chair of the Assembly Education Committee. 

• Muratsuchi has a proven record of fighting for California’s schools, delivering increased funding for smaller class sizes, free school meals for all children, expanded universal preschool, and more support for arts, music, and vocational education. 

• To improve reading test scores, Al wrote a law and delivered millions in state funding to reform reading instruction. 

• As Superintendent of Public Instruction, Al will ban cell phones in classrooms and fight for universal literacy for all students by 3rd grade.
